ABOUT CHARACTER.

Cairo, despite being named after a place in Egypt, was born in Barcelona, Spain and migrated to the Philippines on his first year of High School.

LMK /LJN FC.

  • (PRESENT) La Salle Green Archers as Jersey 12, POINT GUARD

  • UST Growling Tigers as Jersey 21, SHOOTING GUARD

  • San Beda Red Lions as Jersey 67, POWER FORWARD

  • Personality-wise: Cairo, in a nutshell, can be perfectly described as a little shit (just like his father). A trickster, a troublemaker; sly and cunning, yet is hidden by his quiet and calm demeanor.

  • If you’d ask his teammates, Cairo is strict in the court— strict, yet doesn’t let his temper get him. Cairo despite having such standards remain kind, soft-spoken in a way.

  • Outside the games, Cairo is laid-back; just a boy, if you'd accept that description. He isn’t the very best at interacting with people for the first time, yet he tries by wits.

  • Cairo likes to travel a lot by himself— you’d often see him posting pictures of landscapes that never look like it was taken in the Philippines, or at least in the Metro. He departs from his social life quietly, then comes back and surprises everyone with foreign items.

SANDOVAL, CAIRO AZRIEL K.

April 23rd, 2000 — spring in Barcelona, when flowers reborn and the grass blooms green. In a family of 3, the sun rose with a promise of a son: to be named Cairo Azriel, the son of Hermes, the Familia Sandoval’s second son. At a young age, Cairo is inclined to athletics— name any sport, and he’s probably tried it before. He’d say his forte is on Football, but all his luck poured in Basketball. His family paid no attention to his increasing interest, often disappearing from matters and even classes just to play with other kids on the street. All he’s ever known is to play, to be the best and to win.If we were talking about his academics, there’s absolutely nothing to worry about— he’s doing fine, nearing the top of the batch, only failing in conduct for all the absences. Once Cairo’s mother found out about all the things he’s missed to compete in local tournaments, a part of the family decided to migrate to the Philippines; Cairo, together with his father, in hopes he’d act right. But where’s the logic in that when he’s just a teenage boy in his puberty stage? Throwing him to a country he’s unfamiliar with shouldn’t end well, but pushing his luck got him somewhere.Transferring to San Beda College for High School, Cairo found a home within the varsity basketball team (67) — in those same years he participated in the NCAA seasons 86 to 90, consecutively winning the junior division championships until he graudated. When college examinations came, so did the contracts and offers from universities to compete for them. In his freshman year as a major in communications, Cairo accepted the offer to play for the UST Growling Tigers (21) as their shooting guard. After 2 years of playing yellow, the La Salle Green Archers (12) offered him a spot in their varsity team. From Espanya to Taft, Sandoval had to start at his first year of college again, now majoring in economics. While his mother disapproved of his career in athletics, there was nothing in her power to stop Cairo— to her, maybe it was his calling. As they win this year’s UAAP championship, the name Cairo Azriel Sandoval reached the articles in media. Currently off-season, Cairo’s living a not-so-quiet life with his orange cat named Snickers.
